Join national award-winning author and historian, Jim Draeger, as he leads you on a suds-filled romp through evolution and change in Wisconsin’s bar culture. Learn about the evolution of the tavern from stagecoach stops to the themed bars of today. Trace the social, cultural, and technological changes brought about by liquor regulation, temperance, prohibition, and its aftermath.
About our speaker: Jim Draeger is a retired historian who spent 31 years at the Wisconsin Historical Society. He is a frequent presenter on Wisconsin Public Television and has published 2 award-winning books, including Bottoms Up: A Toast to Wisconsin's Historic Bars & Breweries.

- AFS Members: $40
- Non-Members: $45
- Students with ID: $25 - to be refunded at the door.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No registration fees will be refunded for cancellations made less than three full business days prior to the meeting day. (For example, cancellations must be made by the end of Wednesday for an event held the following Monday.) Registered no-shows, who have not paid in advance, will be invoiced for the event. If you wish to cancel, contact TEAM at AFSWI@TEAMWI.com or call Laura Gustafson at 262-532-2440 X15.
Based upon the advance registrations, the Chapter commits to a guaranteed meal count for that event two business days prior to the event. The Chapter pays for those meals regardless of whether all registered individuals actually attend the event.
