7:00 PM Presentation by Brian Began, Senior Vice President of Metalcasting Technical Services, AFS.

This presentation will review the status of research funding and the various technical & foundry-centric projects that those funds support. Additionally, updates for some government-funded projects through AMC (American Metalcasting Consortium), America Makes, the Aluminum Casting Performance Initiative (ACPI) and others will be briefed. The various technology transfer services evolving at the AFS will be described, and finally, questions will be fielded on the full array of happenings at the American Foundry Society.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No registration fees will be refunded for cancellations made less than three full business days prior to the meeting day. (For example, cancellations must be made by the end of Wednesday for an event held the following Monday.) Registered no-shows, who have not paid in advance, will be invoiced for the event. About our speaker: Gurda is the author of The Making of Milwaukee, which became an Emmy Award-winning documentary series by Milwaukee PBS. An eight-time winner of the Wisconsin Historical Society's Award of Merit and a longtime Milwaukee Journal Sentinel history columnist, he brings Milwaukee's rich history to life with energy and expertise.
